Confederate General George D. Johnston's copy, with his ownership at the head of the front wrapper; Johnston (1832-1910), began the war as a lieutenant in the 4th Alabama Infantry and fought in every engagement of the Army of Tennessee from Shiloh to Bentonville, rising to brigade command in 1864. Thoroughly foxed, else a good copy with an excellent association. Original printed wrappers (some erosion along the spine). (562). Item #53787
