Two companies were formed from the unit; one served in the 3rd Alabama Infantry, the other in the 21st Alabama Infantry. A partly printed 1882 check for $50 from the state of Alabama to the Mobile cadets is laid in. Nine pages cover the unit's Civil War and Reconstruction service. Not recorded in Dornbusch, Nevins, or Broadfoot. OCLC locates two copies (Alabama Archives & History, Alabama-Birmingham). Item #53742
