Original gilt-stamped decorated blue cloth, illustrated dust jacket (several small chips at spine ends). Recipient's bookplate, else fine. First edition. Inscribed by the author in 1923. Nevins I, p. 235: "Undocumented accounts written or recorded by a former purser on blockade runners." Thornton 13206. Though widely held in libraries, this is a scarce book and rare in dust jacket; this is the second time we have offered this copy, having first sold it about 15 years ago. We know of but one other copy in dust jacket on the market during that period. Item #53736
