Proposed Reorganization of Professional Baseball.

The report is accompanied by a typed note, signed by Bowie Kuhn as Commissioner of Baseball, 5 January 1970, forwarding the report to a college professor interested in using it in a class; additionally accompanied by a retained copy of a typed note from the professor to Kuhn requesting the copy, a typed letter to the professor signed by a professor at the Wharton School refusing to release a copy, and a ribbon copy of a single-spaced one page memorandum critiquing the report from the professor to Kuhn. All of the material is enclosed in a large mailing envelope imprinted with the baseball commissioner's return address, with eight cancelled, and worn, examples of the 6-cent "Professional Baseball" United States commemorative stamp, issued in 1969. The reorganization plan is not recorded on OCLC; although it was distributed to the press and the version offered here is a contemporary photocopy, offerings in any form are rare. Item #51024
