Mason (1804-1822) was chief justice of the Iowa Supreme Court from 1838-1847. Miller served on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court from 1854-1863. Item #44917

Mason informed Miller that a change in the cabinet would be necessary before some government plans could move forward and was happy to learn that Miller was confident of Pennsylvania's direction for impending fall elections.
