Chattanooga: March 25, 1897. Single sheet, printed on blue paper, measuring 8 1/2 x 14 inches. Printed in black ink, in various typefaces and sizes. Four small holes to broadside, three in the right margin, not affecting textand one in the first column of text obscuring a word or two. Some chipping along top margin; a few words underlined with blue pencil in third column of text. No listings found on OCLC. Faint creasing, else very good. Item #44026
The text, originally written by Allin, and published in the "Tradesman," is here reproduced as a broadside. His three column essay supports Rothschild's assessment of the "future profitable manufacturing and railway building...in the central states." A one paragraph update at the end of the broadside, dated April 1, 1898, states that great progress has been made in "increased shipment of iron from southern mills to foreign countries...[and] increased number and production of southern cotton mills."
