In addition to the program, the lot contains an engraved invitation to the proceedings, Durkee's engraved call card on which he has written "Introducing Mr. Geo. P. Morris," a card of admission to inaugural exercises signed by the university secretary-treasurer Emmett J. Scott, a schedule card for the proceedings, and a card from the university president's office allowing Mr. Morris admission to any campus buildings or meetings. Participants in the inaugural ceremonies included Albert Bushness Hart, John Hope, and Roland Hayes. Included as a part of the proceedings was a two-day conference on African-American life in the United States; its schedule of seminars and addresses was included in the program. A large volume containing the proceedings of the conference was published and is uncommon; the program offered here is not located on OCLC.
