Engraved broadside form, 12 1/2 x 7 5/8 inches, printed on thin paper, wood engraved vignette as part of head, map lower left corner, 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 inches, picturing the Galveston Bay area of Texas along the Gulf Coast and inland, with shading indicating the locations of land under the control of the company. The document gives the holder (in this case "William G. Buckner," in manuscript) "the right to locate a certain area of land on the grants of the Galveston Bay Company and does not purport to give the holder any further interest" (Streeter Texas 1117). The grantee was given "One Labor" of land ("117 136/1000 English acres") within the described grants. Streeter sale 304: "An early Texas land promotion." Very good.
