Your chirography is much improved. Keep on and you will continue to improve,” signed in full “William J. Bingham; the student was Abner N. Faison [1825-1888], Springvale, Sampson Co., N.C.
A 2-page manuscript portion of a second essay by Faison, precedes “On Sex,” and includes a short unsigned critique by Bingham.
